Great review, it is amazing how hard it can be to get fire going when you think it will be a breeze pleasantry

For example at the camp with some wet wood and kindling, I have seen people get lighter fluid and soak there soon to be fire, only to watch it go up in flames, then back down again.  Sometimes many times before they got it to catch.

I have found that if I consistently focus on the essentials, and build every fire like my life could depend on it, I rarely am disappointed.  Every time I leave out a step, and think, this will burn no matter what, I get that oh crap feeling, as if I had to have this fire, I just watched my only chance go up in smoke, pun intended taunt

The KSF fire kit, alnog with a few of their others will be on the way to me soon, and each one will have a proper "home" to live in on my pack you can be sure!

Nicely done Reid, everyone’s emergency gear can benefit from a kit like this.  good

No matter what you normally use to start your campfire, focus

...having a no nonsense fire starting system can really make the difference when needed.

A very good point.

There is no shortcut; even using dangerous accelerants won’t get a poorly prepared fire going quickly.

Spending the time to get your various levels of fuel organized is the key to each and every fire; tinder, kindling, and several sizes of firewood is paramount to reliably starting any fire.

well i am new to the forum and i offer a warm genuine hello to all. i think this is a pretty legit fire system. there are numerous ways to do something, i run a wood stove in my house and i constantly build fire, and to echo what was said about making it count being able to type without gloves on is a good enuf reason to get er goin. every step counts, prep is key, and material choice is everything. nice review yall will definitely hear from me again.
